School of Management, WU Strengthens Strategic Partnership with NKUHT Taiwan, Targeting Faculty Exchange and International Research Grants December 26, 2025 – Assistant Professor Dr. Pimlapas Pongsakornrungsilp, Dean of the School of Management, Walailak University, held a high-level meeting with the executives of the National Kaohsiung University of Hospitality and Tourism (NKUHT) in Taiwan. The meeting aimed to discuss in-depth academic collaborations and reinforce existing partnership projects. The Dean of the School of Management met and consulted with the following high-ranking officials of NKUHT: 1. Dr. Kuo-Tai Chen, Acting President of NKUHT. 2. Dr. Hsiao-Yi, Hou, Dean of International Affairs of NKUHT. The discussion focused on monitoring current progress and expanding future cooperation in the following areas: 1. The purpose of this meeting was to discuss and sign an agreement regarding the preparation for academic cooperation between the two institutions, with a primary focus on developing Double Degree programs and expanding collaboration in teaching, research, and international capacity building for students and staff. The discussion highlighted several immediate collaborative opportunities that will greatly benefit Walailak students. Key Collaboration Opportunities Available for Immediate Implementation 1. Student Exchange Programs (Semester Exchange) ZUEL offers more than 150 English-taught courses, allowing Walailak University students to enroll flexibly in a wide range of subjects during a semester exchange period. 2. Two-Week Summer Courses ZUEL will provide special opportunities for Walailak University students to join 2-week Summer Courses, with full support for accommodation and living expenses, and no tuition fees required. The award was presented by Professor Dr. Supachai Pathumnakul, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation (MHESI). The Digital Marketing & Brandind Program, School of Management, organized the project “Promotion and Development of Students in the Digital Marketing Program” (Activity: Overseas Study Visit for MKT62-323 International Marketing). The activity aimed to provide students with an opportunity to learn about international marketing in Singapore’s business district from December 11-14, 2024. The program included activities that allowed students to gain knowledge of digital marketing through a Walk Rally and explore the business district, drawing inspiration and insights from professional brand creators. The details of the activities are as follows: December 12, 2024 Visited Merlion Park and Marina Bay Sands, a significant landmark in Singapore, home to the Merlion statue, the Marina Bay Sands hotel, and a world-class shopping mall. Students also explored Chinatown, where they learned about the culture and marketing of the Chinese community in Singapore through its shops and markets offering local products and souvenirs. Additionally, the group visited Clarke Quay, a business area known for its unique branded restaurants. December 13, 2024 Visited Changi Airport, a prime example of global branding and marketing. The group also toured Orchard Road, Singapore’s major commercial street, which features luxury shopping malls and high-end retail stores, providing further insights into marketing and retail strategies.
