On May 16, 2024, Walailak University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Hungkuang University, Taiwan, marking a significant step towards fostering student and faculty exchanges, joint research, and academic collaboration between the two institutions.
From July 31 to August 2, 2024, a delegation from Hungkuang University visited Walailak University, culminating in an official meeting on August 1, 2024. The delegation was warmly received by:
- Prof. Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University
- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Surin Maisrikrod, Vice President of Walailak University
- Asst. Prof. Dr. Patnarin Supakorn, Director of the Center for International Affairs
- Asst. Prof. Dr. Apichat Atipairin, Dean of the School of Pharmacy
The School of Management was represented by:
- Asst. Prof. Dr. Pimlapas Pongsakornrungsilp, Dean of the School of Management
- Ms. Supicha Vilaisri, Assistant Dean for International Affairs of the School of Management
The meeting served as a platform for in-depth discussions on enhancing the collaboration between Hungkuang University and Walailak University, focusing on promoting international education and research.
Key highlights of the visit include:
- A meeting between Dr. Tsong-Min Chang, Vice President of Hungkuang University, and the President of Walailak University.
- Guest lectures by Asst. Prof. Dr. Jason Ho, Director of International Affairs and Lecturer at the Department of Cultural Design and Marketing, Hungkuang University, on the following topics:
- July 31, 2024: “My Past Research Regarding Post-Covid 19 Business Strategy for Sharing Economy and Hotel Business” presented to 32 students of the Hotel and Tourism Management program (Subject: THM65-211 Principles of Tourism and Hospitality Marketing in the Digital Era).
- August 1, 2024: “Entrepreneurship & We-Media Marketing and Examples from Taiwan” delivered to students of the Digital Marketing and Branding program (Subject: MKT62-316 Branding Strategy and Integrated Brand Communications).
This collaboration is expected to significantly benefit the academic and research development of both institutions on an international scale.
