School of Management Presents High-Quality Research at the “Walailak – Senate” Collaboration Platform
Linking Academic Knowledge to Policy Development
On 16 June 2025, Walailak University hosted a study visit and discussion session as part of a collaborative initiative between the Senate Secretariat Office and Walailak University, aimed at linking academic research and knowledge to support evidence-based policy development. The event took place at Moklan Conference Room, Professor Dr. Vitit Srisaan Building, Walailak University.
The event was honored by a welcome speech from Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University, and an opening address by Mr. Peerapot Rattanamalee, Deputy Secretary-General of the Senate.
Following the opening ceremony, a policy-focused discussion was held under the topic:
“Strategic Direction for Academic–Government Collaboration in Developing a Research-Based Policy Platform”
The discussion emphasized the co-creation of a shared academic database and the integration of research outcomes into the public policy process.
A key highlight of the event was the presentation of selected research projects by Walailak University faculty members. Notably, research from the School of Management garnered strong interest, including:

“Marketing Development for the Tourism and Service Industry in High-Quality Health Tourism Routes”
by Associate Professor Dr. Siwarit Phongsakornrangsin
This project aims to elevate the health tourism sector by designing products and services that meet the needs of high-end tourists. It also focuses on developing a sustainable marketing model rooted in research-based data and insights. -
“Upgrading Tourism Database Management and Promoting Local Identity Towards a Provincial Branding Strategy in Krabi and Adjacent Areas”
by Assistant Professor Dr. Phimlapat Phongsakornrangsin
This study highlights strategic database management for area-based tourism, with an emphasis on transforming cultural and service-based strengths into provincial identity to enhance long-term sustainability in Andaman coastal regions.
These research presentations demonstrated Walailak University’s capacity to generate impactful academic work that aligns with national policy needs and provides practical value for governmental decision-making.
This event marks an important step in building a strategic partnership between the academic and legislative sectors, with a shared goal of integrating research, data, and innovation into the design of effective policies for sustainable national development.
