Welcoming Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) to ProChef
On February 15, 2025,
the School of Management, Walailak University, had the honor of welcoming one faculty member and nine students from Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) for an enriching Thai culinary experience as part of their academic and cultural exchange visit.
The visit was hosted by the Professional Culinary Arts Program (ProChef) under the expert guidance of Mr. Pravit Tansakul, alongside faculty members and students of the program. Participants had the opportunity to engage in a hands-on learning session, exploring the intricacies of traditional Thai cuisine by preparing two signature dishes: Pad Thai with fresh shrimp and Tom Yum Goong (Spicy Shrimp Soup). The session covered essential culinary skills, including understanding Thai ingredients, ingredient selection, preparation techniques, and authentic seasoning methods that reflect the true essence of Thai gastronomy.
Beyond culinary expertise, this exchange fostered a vibrant atmosphere of cross-cultural learning, allowing students and faculty from both institutions to engage in meaningful dialogue, share perspectives, and strengthen international academic collaboration.
