The President of Walailak University presided over the opening ceremony of the Study Abroad Program 2025 with the University of Akron.

Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University, presided over the opening ceremony of the Study Abroad Program 2025 with the University of Akron, organized by the Digital Marketing Program under the School of Management.

Associate Professor Dr. Charun Bunyakan, Vice President of Walailak University, delivered a welcome address to the delegation of 14 students and 2 faculty members from the University of Akron, United States. The participating professors are:

The program is being held from May 22 to June 1, 2025, at Walailak University, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Thailand.

The ceremony also featured an opening report by

Asst. Prof. Dr. Pimlapas Pongsakornrungsilp, Acting Dean of the School of Management.

The program aims to foster academic development, promote cross-cultural understanding, and strengthen international collaboration between the two universities through academic and marketing-related exchanges.

During the program, students from the University of Akron will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in international marketing, while also engaging with Thai culture through local excursions, traditional practices, cuisine, and daily life. These activities are designed to provide meaningful intercultural and academic experiences.
