Forging Global Futures: Walailak University and Hungkuang University Elevate Academic Ties through Double Degree Plans and Visiting Professors
🤝🌏 Strengthening Strategic Partnership | Walailak University x Hungkuang University
The School of Management (Walailak Business School – WBS) at Walailak University continues to advance its internationalization goals by elevating its global partnerships into tangible outcomes. A WBS executive delegation recently held a high-level strategic meeting with senior executives at Hungkuang University in Taiwan to expand academic collaborations under their existing and highly successful Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The meeting was honored by the presence of top executives from Hungkuang University, including Prof. Hung-Yee Shu (President), Prof. Tsong-Min Chang (Vice President), Mr. Paul Lin (Secretary-General, Office of Secretariat), Dr. Tiger Tien (Dean, Office of International Affairs), and Ms. Peyton Lee (Secretary, Office of International Affairs).
Over the years, WBS and Hungkuang University have maintained a strong track record in student development. WBS has consistently sent over 60 students annually to participate in short-term programs in Taiwan, alongside students enrolled in the intensive 8-month international cooperative education program. These initiatives have successfully provided students with real-world experiences and prepared them for global careers.
Following this strategic discussion, both institutions have agreed on frameworks to expand their partnership across several key dimensions:
-
Curriculum & Academic Innovation: Exploring the feasibility of developing a Joint/Double Degree program and increasing Student Mobility activities between the two universities.
-
Teaching & Instructional Support: Hungkuang University plans to support WBS by sending expert faculty members as Visiting Professors to lecture in specialized courses, including Spa Management for the Tourism program and Italian Cuisine for the Professional Culinary Arts (ProChef) program.
-
International Student Exchange: Preparing to welcome inbound mobility students from Hungkuang University to study with the WBS Marketing Program this coming August, while simultaneously expanding overseas cooperative education quotas for Walailak University students in Taiwan in the future.
This strategic dialogue reflects the shared commitment of both universities to continuously elevate international education standards. By bridging academic knowledge with global experiential learning, both institutions aim to nurture future-ready graduates capable of thriving in the competitive international arena. ✨
