SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT, WALAILAK UNIVERSITY HOSTS INTERNATIONAL EXPERT LECTURE TO REVOLUTIONIZE HIGHER EDUCATION IN THE GENERATIVE AI ERA

June 10, 2026 The School of Management at Walailak University organized a prestigious international guest lecture titled “Rethinking Higher Education in the Age of AI: Implications for Teaching, Communication, and Student Engagement.” The event was honorably inaugurated by Associate Professor Dr. Surin Maisrikrod, Vice President for International Affairs and Teaching and Learning Development, who delivered the opening speech emphasizing the university’s progressive vision in integrating technological advancements with world-class pedagogical frameworks.

The seminar featured Associate Professor Dr. Suwichit Chaidaroon, a distinguished global expert from The University of Melbourne, Australia, as the keynote speaker. The session was held today from 09:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Mokkhallana Conference Room, Professor Dr. Wijit Srisa-an Building, the lecture attracted substantial interest from academic administrators, faculty members, and educational innovators eager to navigate the paradigm shifts introduced by artificial intelligence.

During his address, Associate Professor Dr. Suwichit Chaidaroon provided profound insights into how Generative AI is reshaping the global academic landscape. He challenged conventional teaching paradigms and prompted a critical examination of student engagement strategies. The discussion focused heavily on striking a balance between leveraging AI as an intellectual equalizer and maintaining intellectual integrity, navigating the “Purity Paradox” of grading, and shifting the focus of assessment from rote memorization to “Agentic Engagement”—where students evolve from passive answer-consumers into critical problem-solvers.

“In an era where artificial intelligence can explain theories more patiently and personalize content more efficiently than any static textbook, the irreplaceable value of a human educator lies not in delivering information, but in cultivating character, resilient mindsets, and the capacity to ask the right, deeply ethical questions,” noted Associate Professor Dr. Suwichit.

The event was strictly coordinated and attended by the executive leadership team of the School of Management, showcasing the department’s institutional commitment to fostering international academic networks and implementing cutting-edge standards in business and administrative education.

Prominent Faculty and Executive Attendees Included:

  1. Associate Professor Dr. Onanong Chieableam, Associate Dean, School of Management

  3. Associate Professor Dr. Pensiri Kaewthong, Head of the Research Center, School of Management
  4. Dr. Sukumal Klamksaengsai, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, School of Management Along with faculty members and staff from the School of Management.
