Walailak University’s School of Management Successfully Hosted the International Conference in Management Study 2026 (ICMS 2026)

On March 26, 2026, the School of Management, Walailak University, successfully hosted the ICMS 2026 at the Pattarathammaporn Chamber, Walailak University Hospital, under the theme “Carbon Neutrality and Sustainability.” 

The conference brought together scholars, experts, and professionals from various institutions to exchange knowledge and perspectives on sustainability, innovation, business, and emerging technologies. The event began with a report address by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pensiri Kaewthong, Head of the Research Center, followed by the opening remarks by Asst. Prof. Dr. Pimlapas Pongskornrungsilp, Dean of the School of Management. 

Throughout the conference, participants engaged with a range of timely and impactful topics, including Sustainable & Carbon-Neutral Tourism Development, Sustainable Marketing and Mindful Branding, Green Logistics and Low-Carbon Supply Chain Management, Sustainable Culinary Innovation and Low-Carbon Gastronomy, and AI-Driven Sustainability. 

The conference featured a distinguished lineup of international speakers who shared valuable insights at the intersection of technology, business, and ecology: 

  1. Prof. Ricky Y. K. Chan (Keynote Speaker, Hong Kong Polytechnic University) reflected on decades of green business research and its future direction. 
  2. Dr. Matteo Borghi (Keynote Speaker, Henley Business School, UK) explored the role of AI in low-carbon decision-making within tourism and service industries. 
  3. Dr. Siti Rahyla Binti Rahmat (Universiti Sains Malaysia) discussed smart farming readiness in the Harumanis mango industry. 
  4. Ms. Kusuma Kinglek (Executive, Aonang Princeville Villa Resort and Spa) presented a community-centered model for regional sustainability in Krabi. 
  5. Dr. Phatcharasiri (Angie) Ratcharak (Greenwich Business School, UK) addressed Green Human Resource Management and strategies for overcoming resistance to change. 
  6. Yan Sun (Guangzhou Xinhua University, China) examined AI resources, firm performance, and green value co-creation. 
  7. Xiaolan Zhu (Guangzhou Huashang Vocational College, China) analyzed the dual effects of AI personalization on consumer privacy concerns and technology adoption. 

Furthermore, the conference also featured 18 poster presentations. To recognize outstanding academic contributions, several poster awards were presented, including the Best Poster Award, 1st Runner-up Poster Award, 2nd Runner-up Poster Award, and Outstanding Poster Presentation Award. These insightful presentations highlighted the important role of interdisciplinary collaboration in addressing today’s environmental and societal challenges. 

The conference concluded with an award ceremony and closing remarks by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Siwarit Pongsakornrungsilp, Vice President for Research and Innovation and Head of the Digital Marketing and Branding Program, who emphasized the importance of international collaboration in driving sustainability and creating meaningful impact for the future. 

ICMS 2026 marked another important academic milestone for the School of Management and reflected Walailak University’s strong commitment to advancing global partnerships, academic excellence, and sustainable development.
