School of Management Leads Thai-Uzbek Students to Krabi Promoting Green Tourism and Sustainability Concepts
On Saturday, April 18, 2026, the School of Management organized the “Green Tourism Study” activity, leading a group of 15 Thai students and exchange students from Tashkent University of Information Technologies (TUIT), Uzbekistan, to Krabi province. The initiative aimed to deepen their understanding of eco-friendly business management and green tourism innovations.
The program commenced with a special lecture by Mr. Pongpetch Chaichompoo, the renowned entrepreneur behind Baan Ton Mai Cafe and Restaurant and Ma’s Sea Hotel. He shared his expertise on two core principles:
- Mindful Consumption: Strategies for reducing resource waste in business operations.
- Green Economy: Driving business growth while maintaining a balance between the economy, society, and the environment.
The students gained firsthand insight into how tourism businesses can thrive while tangibly preserving community roots and natural resources.
In the afternoon, the delegation visited the Klong Root Eco Tourism Community, a premier model for ecotourism management. Key learning points included:
- Community Engagement: Understanding how local involvement serves as the heart of sustainable tourism management.
- Sustainability in Practice: Maintaining the integrity of natural resources through creative tourism activities.
“By allowing students to witness real-world operations and engage with actual entrepreneurs, they realize that sustainability is not just a theory—it is a vital business strategy for the future.”
This study trip did more than just enhance academic skills; it fostered a collaborative network between Thai and international students. By exchanging cultures and ideas, these students are preparing to become high-quality professionals in the global tourism industry.
